I came across this quote in an online section of the magazine American Scholar called Commonplace Book, which is apparently a random assortment of quotes that editors decided to share. I quite like such things.

Other than that Bob Dylan (ne Robert Zimmerman) took the name Dylan from Mr. Thomas, I don’t know anything else about the man. I assume he was a good writer if Mr. Zimmerman admired him so much. This quote certainly piques my curiosity. While it appears to almost devolve into gibberish, and repeats itself in an odd way, I like how the sentence meanders and produces a visceral image in my mind and feeling in my bones. Reading it actually makes me feel cold. Going to have to seek me out some more Dylan Thomas.
