Another musical legend passed away today, the very well loved Dolly Parton. She was 80 years old. I was not a fan of her music, but everything that I’ve read about her makes me like her. To be clear, I did think she had a wonderful voice, I just never listened to her music much. However, I was well aware of her philanthropy. Perhaps her most well known giving had to do with reading. Her father grew up illiterate in Appalachia so Dolly started a program called the Imagination Library that, according to their website, has gifted over 332 million books to young children! The way it works is that a child can be signed up and will then receive a book each month until they are 5 years old. So cool!

As a massive Judas Priest fan, I also need to mention Dolly’s relatively recent collaboration with Priest’s Rob Halford.
