Modern life grates in many ways. However, there are also quite a lot of elements I greatly appreciate. For instance, right now I am sitting in my favorite reading chair on a Friday night watching my beloved Stanford Cardinal play football (not very well at the moment) against Miami down on The Farm, while simultaneously listening (and half watching) a live stream from the floor of Phish’s first set at ‘Dick’s’ in Commerce City, Colorado where I have several friends dancing the end of summer away. This sort of entertainment may seem standard in our day and age, but I don’t take it for granted. Grooving to a unique jam, knowing your friends are there in attendance, while watching your favorite football team play, while sneaking in some reading at the same time is, as the old, classic Mastercard ad said, priceless.
