One of the books I am reading right now is called The 12 Levers. It is a self help book, a genre I enjoy. One of the 12 levers is Communicate Skillfully (Lever 10). In that chapter the authors discuss Arthur Aron’s 36 questions. The questions were designed to encourage people who don’t know each other well to get relatively close, relatively fast, by discussing the questions in order. Apparently, the questions have lead some couples in the experiments by Aron and his colleagues to actuallly fall in love and get married. The list of questions is sometimes refered to as the ‘36 questions to fall in love.’

I was curious about the questions so I looked them up. For the most part, the questions also seem like they would work great as journal prompts. Here they are…
